Some things that are similar about animal, plant, and algea cell is that they all have nucleus's. Other types of cells may be able to function without a nuclues. Some ways they are different is that plants hve a large central vacuole and animal cells don't. Animal cells still have a vacuole it is just smaller than a plant cell's vacuole. plant and algae are more similar than an animal cell. Algea cells have a central vacuole, like plants, instead of what animals have. Also, plants and algea have chloroplast, chloroplasm, and a cell wall. When plants eat, they use a special process to help use the sun's energy. This process is called photosynthesis. During photosynthesis which takes place in the chloroplasts of the plant cell take in the sun's energy to create nutrients for itself. Chloroplasm is a green substance inside.
            A cell wall is a hard wall on the outside of the cell membrane. Unlike, a cell membrane the wall is not flexible and really doesn't let in substances. An animal cell only has a cell membrane.
 
          A one celled organism reproduces by splitting in two. That is how you get millions of tiny cells in the envirement and even in you. When a cell splits it goes through several stages to do it. The first stage is called prophase. During this stage the cell duplicates its DNA(deoxyribose nucleic acid) so that both cells after mitosis will have enough of everything in  themselves. The parent cell makes the duplicate DNA out of protiens that the cell has. The next stage of mitosis is the metaphase. During metaphase the DNa duplicates and originals come together at the equator of the cell.This helps so at the end of the process both cell will only take one of each. Anaphase, the next step, is where the DNA move to oppposite sides of the cell. They start pushing at the sides to help stretch it so the cell splits in two. The same thing happens in telophase, the final step. The only thing different is that they move to the other side of the cell. Then the cell membrane forms like a wall between the cells and the parent is split in two.
 
                     Today the blog post was about rats. The reason that baby rats grow is because they eat and get nutrients from their food. Some may be in the form of a protien or in just plain old energy. Some ways that they can grow is if they eat the right amount of a healthy food they need they can start growing fur or growing longer. Most of the time the cell help work their bodies though. The cells might take the food and break it up in to tiny fibers to help it move. Some cells may take it through the body to keep it running, or others may make protiend or other ways to help the baby grow. The cell is made of a lot of things
 
          Yesterday I read an article about santa claus and how he travels around the world deliviring toys to the children in one day. The article says that there would be absolutely no way that would happen. Here is some evidence about the article. It said that reindeer have not been known to fly, but there might be somme kind of species that scientists have not  discovered yet. So what that tells you is there might actualy be flying reindeer that only live in the North Pole. The article also staed that with all the milk and cookies that santa eats he would be three thousand plus tons from all the calories. The reindeer even if they are lighter could not have flown a three thousand plus ton man across the sky. Then comes the part where santa goes down the chimney. He had about one one thousanth of a second to go down and eat cookies and fill stockings before flying away. The reindeer would also be hit with a lot  of air pressure and speed up in the air. Luckily for santa he gats more than the twenty-four hour range. With different time zones, he would have thirty-one hours to deliver all the toys. Then some kids will not believe in santa because of their religion. So santa has some help there.
 
                     What I learned from the edible cell project is the parts of the cell. We had already learned about them, but I think that doing that project helps people like me learn the organelles in the cell. It can also give you a feeling of how everything works. Like the endoplasmic reticulum is a channel of tunnels that transport protiens through the cell. Ribosomes will sometimes be on ER's sides. Doing a project where you lay out everything gives you an idea of how everything is laid out. Like the nucleolus is in the nucleus
 
              Three parts of a cell are a nucleus, a cell membrane, and ER. These are only some parts of a cell, since there are a lot more parts in there. A nucleus is basicallythe brain of the cell and is the one who will tell each of the organelles what to do. A cell membrane is a gate that blocks what is bad outside a nd lets better things in. It is really a gate that allows or doesn't allow something in to the cell. These help keep things inside the cell like organelles from getting out and keeps other harm for matter from coming in. The ER is short for endoplasmic reticulum and is like a channel of tunnels throughout the cell that transport protien. There are two kinds of endoplasmic reticulum; rough and smooth. The rough endoplasmic reticulum has ribosomes attached on to the inside of it.

Cells that are in your body do different things. You just can't feel them. They
are so microscopic that you can't see them with the naked eye. Under a
microscope you can see a wholo lot of cells. The cells that you will see most
often are red blood cells. When you cut your hand and blood seeps out, millions
upon millions of red blood cells pour out. In one drop, there are so many blood
cells that it would take a week to count them all, even under a microscope. The
red blood cells take the oxygen from your heart to the rest of your body.
 
                  
My favorite activity was the glogster poster. The poster helped me learn the six
charactaristics of life. Those are being made of one or more of cells, able to
reproduce, can sense and respond to change, have DNA, able to grow and develope,
and can use energy. What we did was created a digital poster and added photos
and videos, to make this learning tool for us. First, we had to write down a
summary about the different charactaristics of life. We took what we had written
inserted a text box and typed in the box. Then, we searched for videos and
pictures in a separate tab.
 
               I look like my mom more than my dad. Actually I have no idea how I look like my dad. My younger brother, Michael looks like him when he was a young boy, but I look like my mom. I have her blue eyes and her hair color. The one thing that I sharewith my dad, at least I think, is that I have a "mutant toe". That means that my second biggest toe is   growing a little too much, and has reached about my big toe. Other than that I can't think of anything else that I share in common with him. My mom and I get comments saying that we look a lot like each other. I don't know where mom gets her look from her parents.
 
 The displacement method is a way to find the volume of irregular objects. Let's say you have a lump of hardened clay. To find the volume of the clay, fill a graduated cyloinder with water and measure how high the water level is and figure out what do the incremants go by. The incraments are what the tiny measuring lines are for. Once the water has been measured accurately take the object you are finding the volume for and drop it in the water. The amount of water that went up is the volume of the clay.
