English and History
In this class we are learning about the empire of Rome, the empire of Mali, and the spread of Islam. We take cornell notes on them in our history books and turn them in to her. Then she grades them hands them back and we study for tests. Sometimes, we have simulations where my teacher will have us pretend that we are really doing it instead of just being in a classroom learning about them. We also watch videos and take notes on that. In English, we do SVG and write about the book that we are reading in class with different prompts.

Hall of Fame PosterSpelling, Grammer, and Vocabulary (SVG) In class we do packets that help us with spelling, vocabulary, and grammer, with a test every two weeks. Some of the packet we do at home and correct it a t school. There are vocabulary words that we study with either root words, prefixes, or suffixes. Then we will learn about object pronouns, capitolization, quotation marks, compound words, etc. Then after two weeks of working on it we take a test. The test reviews everything we have learned from the packet. Once the test is done we keep the packet to study for the big test. Then we get a new packet and do it again.
A tool that we use is Quizlet. Quizlet is an online flashcard center where you can create flashcards for terms you don't know. Once you have created a set, there are buttons that can help you learn and study the terms. Study is where it calculates which one is correct and which one isn't. Speller is where you type what you here. You can take a practice test to help you learn the terms. If you don't want to do those things, there are games you can play to help you learn them more, too. This reminds me of when I was in sixth grade and I had to study for a test. My mom made flashcards for me to study for the test. |
